Benrus was founded in 1921 in New York City by Benjamin Lazrus and his brothers, who combined Benjamin’s first name with their family surname to form the brand’s identity. Starting with just $5,000, the brothers imported Swiss movements and cased them locally in the Hippodrome building at the center of New York’s jewelry district. Over the years, Benrus built a reputation for dependable, stylish watches that reflected American design and ingenuity.
