Vintage Heuer Monnin Diver 844

The Heuer Reference 844, also known as the "Monnin" diver, is one of the most significant models in Heuer's history, credited with saving the company from the quartz crisis in the late 1970s. It established the design template for all subsequent professional dive watches from the brand, eventually evolving into the iconic TAG Heuer 1000 series. The earliest "Mark I" and "Mark II" variants were manufactured in France and are signed "G. Monnin" inside the caseback. Production shifted to Switzerland in late 1980 for variants 844-2 through 844-5.
